Team Winston-Salem Announces 2026 Roster and Will Compete in France’s Prestigious Ronde de l’Isard

WINSTON-SALEM, NC — Team Winston-Salem has announced its roster for the 2026 race season and has been invited to compete in France’s Ronde de l’Isard. The Ronde de l’Isard is a prestigious French stage race for Under-23 (U23) cyclists that is held in the Pyrenees and known as a crucial steppingstone for future pro stars.

“Our inaugural season wasn’t just about results, it was about proving that what Team Winston-Salem is building works and has momentum,” Team Director Jon Hamblen said. “We are over the moon thrilled to be invited to the Ronde de l’Isard, which is widely known for attracting the world’s best young cyclists and focusing on raw climbing talent and tactical racing in a highly demanding mountain environment.”

Key aspects about the Ronde de l’Isard:

  • Category: UCI 2.2U (Under-23) on the UCI Europe Tour.

  • Location: The Pyrenees mountains in France, with finishes often in Saint-Girons (Ariège).

  • Format: A multi-stage road race with challenging mountain climbs, testing young riders’ endurance and climbing ability.

  • Significance: A key development race where top performers often transition to WorldTour teams, making it a prime scouting ground for professional squads.

  • 2025 Edition: Ran from May 21–25, featuring five stages with iconic Pyrenean climbs, with Jarno Widar taking the overall win.

“In addition, we’ll be racing across the Southeast at USA CRITS, the American Criterium Cup, and UCI stage races like Tour of the Gila and Tour de Beauce,” he added. “But most importantly, you’ll see us here at home during the Winston-Salem Cycling Classic/Gears & Guitars festival—our marquee event where we race for you, our community.”

Team Winston-Salem’s roster for the 2026 season includes:

She has two cats, Burt and Baker, and organizes her gels in a shower caddy.
